In Timaeus, Plato refers to the receptacle as space, a three-dimensional field in which the created universe must subsist.  This field serves as an "imitation model" of a larger, eternal world.   Here, modern triangular forms mold modernly across the wrist line, simultaneously taking firm shape and honoring notions of space.
